WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: Simon Nicholls robbed Bill Hinchman of a base hit.

Rube Vickers was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at League Park where the Philadelphia Athletics beat the
Cleveland Naps by the score of 4 to 3.

Philadelphia jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating an
isolated run. Topsy Hartsel lashed a single. Rube Oldring came next and he
reached on an error. Eddie Collins then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run.
Philadelphia had just 6 hits for the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Vickers(11-12) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. The losing pitcher was Cy Falkenberg(3-8). He was a hard-luck loser,
pitching 9 innings and not allowing an earned run.
