Doc White completed the game without help from the bullpen at Comiskey Park as
the Chicago White Sox staged a comeback win over the Philadelphia Athletics
by the count of 2 to 1.

Chicago erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 2 runs on 2 base hits. White led off and keyed the rally when he drew a
walk. Morrie Rath stepped up to the plate and he lined a one-base hit.
Wally Mattick then worked the squeeze play to perfection which plated a run.
Harry Lord came up and he slapped a base-hit giving Chicago the win as 13,403
happy fans joyfully celebrated. Chicago finished with 7 hits in the victory.

White(5-7), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Chief
Bender(7-6) was the loser. 'Wow, that was fun!', White said following the
game. 'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you just why you got
into this business to begin with!'
