Left fielder Ralph Kiner left the yard and had 4 RBI at Sportsman's Park as
the New York Yankees belted the St. Louis Cardinals by the count of 13 to
2.

Kiner had a good day at the plate.  He ripped a solo home run in the 1st
inning, lined a single knocking in a run in the 2nd inning and tripled
scoring two baserunners in the 8th inning.  For the game New York out-hit St.
Louis 14 to 10.  

The victory was credited to Johnny Vander Meer(8-9) who went 8 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Joe Dobson(5-12) was the losing pitcher.  He served up 3
gopher balls in 2 and 1/3 innings.
