Third baseman Sid Gordon smacked 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Fenway Park where
the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 11 to 6.

Gordon was really in 'the zone'. He smacked a single in the 2nd inning,
doubled resulting in a run in the 3rd inning, clubbed a solo home run in the
7th inning, delivered a solo blast in the 8th inning and clubbed a two-run
home run in the 9th inning. New York kept the scorekeepers busy in the 3rd
inning with 3 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning which saw them score 3 runs
on 3 hits. New York had 20 hits for the game and Boston had 16.

The win was credited to Ted Gray(6-4) who went 3 innings allowing no runs.
Jack Banta(10-7) was the losing pitcher in relief. He served up 3 gopher
balls in 2 innings.

'I had good swings today,' Gordon said, 'Everything felt right'.
