Second baseman Jerry Priddy had 3 base hits and 4 RBI and Larry Jansen allowed
Dan Polis to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the St. Louis
Cardinals defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 10 to 4 at Crosley
Field.

St. Louis jumped on top to stay in the 2nd inning scoring 2 runs on 2 base
hits.  Carl Furillo got things going when he ripped a base-hit.  Duke Snider
came to the plate and drew a walk.  Eddie Yost then laced a single to load
the bases.  Priddy was up next and he drew a walk which plated a run.  After
another out, Ferris Fain stepped in and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the
final run of the inning.  St. Louis had 13 hits for the afternoon.

Jansen(6-14), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Johnny
Schmitz(4-16) was given the loss.  He allowed 10 hits and 8 walks in 6
innings.
