In a two run game the Boston-AL Red Sox got by the Chicago-NL Cubs by the
score of 5 to 3.

Boston-AL scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they had 4 base
hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Max Lanier(6-11) and
Boston-AL.  That was all the run support Lanier required.  Boston-AL won
despite being out-hit by Chicago-NL 9 hits to 5.  

Lanier got help from Bill Macdonald who was credited with his 4th save.  Vic
Raschi(6-13) was tagged with the loss.  Despite taking the loss, he whiffed
12 batters in 7 and 2/3 innings.  

With this win, Boston-AL has a 53-66 record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  With
the loss Chicago-NL now has a record of 54-61.
