Tim Keefe carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the New York Giants
bested the Cleveland Spiders 9 to 0 at League Park.

Keefe(21-6) was simply too much for the Cleveland batters. He didn't give up
much, just 2 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings. The right-handed Keefe lost his
no-hit bid when Cub Stricker tripled with two outs in the 6th inning.
Offensively, New York was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Henry Gruber(4-7) was charged with the loss. He gave up 9 runs and 9 hits in
9 innings. Tom Loftus lamented, 'Keefe was really aggressive today. He kept
coming after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys down one
after another - like so many bowling pins!'
