Catcher Chief Zimmer had 2 base hits and Harry Wilhelm pitched a complete game
as the Louisville Colonels topped the Brooklyn Superbas by a score of 6 to 4
at Washington Park.

Louisville scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning. The key offensive
moment was provided by Wilhelm who deflated the mood of the partisan fans
when he quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam.  Louisville rapped out 9
hits for the afternoon.  

Wilhelm(1-0), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Doc
McJames(12-7) was hit with the loss.  He surrendered 6 runs and 9 hits in 9
innings.
