WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Lee Tannehill robbed Cy Seymour of a base hit.

First baseman Jack Doyle hit 3 doubles as the New York-NL Giants defeated the
lifeless Detroit Tigers in 12 innings by the score of 4 to 2 at Bennett
Park.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. New York-NL won the
game in the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Honus Wagner was the
sparkplug when he banged out a single. Wagner got a great jump and stole
second easily. Andy Coakley then had one get away for a wild pitch. Coakley
then let one get away for a wild pitch which scored a run. After another
out, Cy Seymour stepped in and he stroked a one-base hit. Doyle kept the
rally going and doubled, and an error was also committed, scoring the final
run of the inning. Both teams finished the game with 9 hits.

Kaiser Wilhelm(3-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and
allowing no runs. Bill Duggleby got the save, his 1st. Coakley(1-1) was
given the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 3 hits in 1 inning.
