Ray Boone launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Griffith Stadium as the
Washington Nationals beat the lifeless New York-AL Yankees by the count of 7
to 4.

Boone had a good day at the plate.  He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in
the 2nd inning, delivered a base-hit which brought home a run in the 5th
inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 6th inning.  New York-AL threatened
in the 9th but Washington was able to put down the rally.  

The victory went to Spec Shea(8-8) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing 4
runs. Roy Face earned his 3rd save.  The loss was charged to Carl
Erskine(11-13).  He was touched for 11 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
