In a close game it was the St. Louis-AL Browns 9, the New York-NL Giants 7 at
Polo Grounds.

Ed Karger(4-8) pitched well in relief and was credited with the victory.  He
allowed only 1 hit and no walks in 1 inning.  Overall St. Louis-AL out-hit
New York-NL 16 to 9.  

Karger got help from Addie Joss who earned his 14th save.  Jack Powell(3-5)
was given the loss in relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in
2 innings.  

The St. Louis-AL ballclub's record now stands at 47-60.  With the loss, New
York-NL has a record of 3-7 lately, 38-69, worst in the division overall.
