Rosen was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He lined a single which plated a run in the 1st inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 3rd inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 6th inning. Both teams finished the game with 7 hits. Steve Gromek(7-7) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Gromek was helped out by Art Houtteman who recorded his 1st save. Bob Lemon(20-6) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 7 innings of work.
