Left fielder Abner Dalrymple slammed 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Larry
Corcoran threw a 2 hitter as the Chicago White Stockings destroyed the
Buffalo Bisons by a score of 11 to 1 at Lake Front Park.
Dalrymple was in a groove all day. He doubled in the 1st inning, lofted a
solo-blast 'downtown' in the 2nd inning, banged out a single bringing in a
run in the 4th inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in
the 6th inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Chicago
dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.
Corcoran(26-17) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Billy
Serad(10-16) was the loser. He served up 3 homeruns in his 8 innings.
'Everything seemed to click today,' Dalrymple said 'if it could only be this
easy all the time!'
