Left fielder Duff Cooley had 4 hits and 4 RBI at League Park as the St. Louis
Browns, running on all cylinders, ripped the Cleveland Spiders by a large 23
to 12 margin.

Cooley had a big day with his bat.  He laced a base-hit plating a run in the
1st inning, lined a single scoring a run in the 5th inning, hit a bases-empty
home run in the 6th inning and lashed a one-base hit which scored a run in
the 7th inning.  St. Louis bats were hot in the 2nd inning which saw them
score 11 runs on 7 hits and the 5th inning with 5 runs on 5 hits.  The St.
Louis offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  

Dewey McDougal(1-2) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 12 runs.
Phil Knell(2-15) was charged with the loss.  He was knocked around by St.
Louis, allowing 25 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.
