Monte Cross cracked a homer and had 3 RBI and Percy Coleman pitched a complete
game at League Park where the St. Louis Browns beat the Cleveland Spiders by
the score of 10 to 7.

Cleveland fell behind quickly as the St. Louis offense came through in the
first inning plating 3 runs on 4 base hits.  Klondike Douglass led off and
keyed the rally when he laced a base-hit.  John Houseman followed next and he
tripled scoring a run.  Fred Hartman then was hit by a pitch.  Hartman got a
great jump and stole second easily.  Dan Lally came to the plate and doubled
which was good for two more runs.  St. Louis totaled 15 hits on the
afternoon.  

Coleman(4-0) lasted until the end allowing 7 runs for the win. Charlie
Brown(1-3) absorbed the loss.  He was touched for 15 hits and 3 walks in 8
innings.  

This win by St. Louis continues their recent hot streak.  In their last ten
games, they have a record of 8-2.  For the season, they are 27-69.  Cleveland
has a record of 48-45 after the loss.
