Bill Keister had 4 hits and Joe McGinnity allowed John McGraw to rest his
bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Baltimore Orioles staged a dramatic
comeback over the slumping Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 5 to 4 at Union
Park.

Baltimore won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Dave Fultz began the rally
when he hit a single. Gene Demontreville was next and he lined a single.
McGraw then called for a steal which was successful. One out later, Keister
came up and he delivered a base-hit resulting in a mighty exciting win for
Baltimore and the 3,264 home town fans in attendance. Baltimore managed 16
hits in their victory.

The win was credited to McGinnity(14-12) who went the whole way allowing 4
runs. Jesse Tannehill(19-9) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 16 hits and
no walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Keister noted. 'It was
looking pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and it
really paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy there
at the end!'
