Jack Powell came through with a solid 10 innings as the St. Louis Browns
defeated the league door-mat Washington Senators in 12 innings 2 to 1 at
Sportsman'S Park.

The score was tied at 1 after nine.  St. Louis was victorious in the 12th
inning.  Emmet Heidrick laced a single.  Hunter Hill came next and he reached
on an error.  After an out was recorded, Charlie Hemphill then drew a walk to
load the bases.  Jesse Burkett was up next and he drew a walk making St.
Louis the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  St. Louis
finished with 8 hits in the victory.  

Bill Reidy(2-6) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Watty Lee(5-6)
suffered the loss.  He pitched 11 and 1/3 innings allowing 8 hits and 5
walks.
