At West Side Park, the Chicago-NL fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Nap
Rucker(10-14) finally bested his Chicago-NL opposite, Cy Morgan(13-11), by
the score of 1 to 0.
New York-NL set the tone of the game in the first inning plating an isolated
run. That early run support was all that Rucker required. Chicago-NL made
it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Jack Powell earned the save, his 10th. The losing pitcher was Morgan. He was
pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 7 innings of
work.
