Jack Barry had 2 base hits and Chief Bender allowed Connie Mack to rest his
bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Philadelphia Athletics bested the
Cleveland Naps in 11 innings 4 to 3 at Shibe Park.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally,
Philadelphia pulled the game out in the 11th inning.  Amos Strunk ripped a
base-knock.  Bris Lord came to the plate and tripled giving Philadelphia the
win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Philadelphia totaled 10
hits on the afternoon.  

Bender(8-6) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Vean Gregg(7-14)
was charged with the loss.  Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 15 batters in
10 innings.  

The Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at 69-38. Cleveland has a record
of 52-56 after the loss.
