In a good matchup it was the Boston Red Sox 7, the Washington Nationals 4 at
Fenway Park.

Boston scored 4 runs in the decisive bottom of the 7th inning. The big moment
was provided by Dick Hoblitzell who elicited a roar from the hometown fans
when he banged out a single plating two runs.  Although they lost, Washington
did out-hit Boston 11 to 7.  

The victory was credited to Babe Ruth(11-5) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 4 runs. Vean Gregg got the save, his 1st.  Walter Johnson(16-10) was
hit with the loss.  He allowed 7 runs and 7 hits in 7 innings.
