Carl Furillo hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI at Griffith Stadium where
the Chicago-NL Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 11 to 8.
Whitey Ford(3-3) earned his pay with a solid performance for Chicago-NL. He
was reached for 3 hits and no walks in 5 innings seeing his ERA drop from
3.00 to 2.66. Chicago-NL took care of Washington with no trouble in the
bottom of the 9th.
Bob Feller(8-10) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and
