Mickey McDermott pitched a 2 hit shutout at Griffith Stadium where the
Boston-AL Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals 5 to 0.
McDermott(6-7) was virtually untouchable. He surrendered only 2 hits and no
walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 3.71 to 3.43. Boston-AL banged out
10 hits on the night.
Murry Dickson(4-9) took the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 6 walks in 9
innings. 'I've been working on a few things in my delivery, and I think I'm
hitting a good groove.' McDermott said after the game. 'I'm ready to start
another game tomorrow!'
