Granny Hamner hit a homerun at Yankee Stadium as the New York-AL Yankees beat
the Cincinnati Reds in 11 innings by the count of 2 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine.  New York-AL was victorious in the 11th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Sid Gordon drew a walk.  One out later,
Hamner came up and he drew a walk.  Del Rice then drew a walk to load the
bases.  Bob Kuzava was up next and he reached on an error making New York-AL
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  The game was a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  

Kuzava(6-6) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Vern
Bickford(4-10) ended up with the loss in relief.  He was a hard-luck loser,
pitching 2 and 2/3 innings and not allowing an earned run.
