Sid Gordon blasted a homerun and had 4 RBI as the New York-AL Yankees bested
the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 11 to 6 at Shibe Park.

New York-AL had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning when they
tallied 5 runs on 3 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Gordon who
silenced Shibe Park as he belted a three-run homer.  Despite losing,
Philadelphia-AL out-hit New York-AL 14 to 10.

innings. Fritz Dorish(3-4) ended up with the loss in relief.  He surrendered
