In a tight game it was the Brooklyn Dodgers 3, the Boston-NL Braves 1 in 10
innings at South End Grounds.
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Brooklyn came out on top in
the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Mickey Doolin got things going
when he singled. Doolin took his lead and swiped second. One out later,
Walter Blair then smacked a single which scored a run. Brooklyn continued
their aggressive style with another stolen base. Eddie Collins stepped into
the box and lashed a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning.
Brooklyn took care of Boston-NL with no trouble in the bottom of the 10th.
The win was credited to Harry Suter(2-2) who went 1/3 of an inning allowing no
runs. Charlie Smith gained credit for his 6th save. Fred Burchell(1-2) was
the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no walks in 1
inning.
