Danny Murphy slammed a homerun at Sportsman'S Park as the very potent
Philadelphia-AL Athletics beat the St. Louis-AL Browns by the count of 5 to
3.

Philadelphia-AL scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs on 3 hits. Home Run Baker led off and started the attack as
he drew a walk. Jimmy Walsh stepped up to the plate and he delivered a
single. After an out was recorded, Frank Schulte then ripped a one-base hit
scoring a single run. Al Bridwell followed and he hit a deep fly scoring the
final run of the inning. Overall Philadelphia-AL out-hit St. Louis-AL 12 to
5.

The victory went to King Cole(15-4) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs. Frank
Lange earned his 16th save. Dolly Gray(8-8) ended up with the loss in
relief.

Philadelphia-AL remained hot, improving their record to 70-38. They now have a
record of 8-2 in recent days. Tim Singer was unhappy with his club's recent
performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be
embarrassing after a while.'
