Stuffy McInnis had 3 base hits and 4 RBI as the very potent Philadelphia
Athletics outscored the Cleveland Naps 16 to 9.
It was a good day for Philadelphia thanks to McInnis. He ripped a base-hit
knocking in a run in the 2nd inning, tripled bringing in two baserunners in
the 2nd inning and lined a one-base hit resulting in a run in the 8th inning.
Philadelphia lit up the scoreboard in the 2nd inning when they had 9 runs on
10 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits. Even
though they scored in 5 different innings, Cleveland was not able to pull off
the win.
Jack Coombs(17-7) allowed 7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Fred Blanding(12-7) was the loser. He was not very effective,
surrendering 12 runs in 7 innings.
