Larry Doby blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI and Ned Garver delivered 9 solid
innings at Yankee Stadium as the Cincinnati Reds, running on all cylinders,
ripped the New York-AL Yankees by a large 12 to 0 margin.

Doby had a big day against New York-AL.  He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st
inning, doubled which brought home a run in the 4th inning and slapped a
single in the 6th inning.  Cincinnati had many opportunities throughout the
game and scored in 6 separate innings.  

For Garver(13-7) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Robin Roberts(9-12) was the
loser.  He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
