a score of 9 to 6 at Boundary Field.

Baltimore drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning as
they scored 2 runs on 1 base hits.  Baltimore had 18 hits overall, while
Washington had 8.  

George Hemming(14-10) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and
allowing 6 runs. Duke Esper preserved the game for Hemming, recording his his
2nd save.  Win Mercer(9-14) took the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 18 hits
and 2 walks in 9 innings.
