Jim Whitney had a complete game as the Washington Nationals defeated the
hapless Indianapolis Hoosiers by the score of 3 to 2 at Swampoodle
Grounds.

In the bottom of the 4th inning Washington scored 1 run.  Neither team managed
to score after the 4th inning.  Whitney(17-9) was the winner allowing 2 runs
for the game. Bill Burdick(3-4) was the losing pitcher.  He was the victim of
a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.  

The Washington ballclub's record now stands at 44-45.  With the loss, the
Indianapolis ballclub's record is 32-58, worst in the league.
