Frank Bowerman had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates outscored
the Chicago-NL Cubs 4 to 3.

Pittsburgh erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning with 3 runs on
4 hits. Sam Crawford started the inning off right when he laced a one-base
hit. Socks Seybold was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. After
another out, Harry Wolverton then drew a walk. Joe Tinker followed next and
he slapped a single driving in a run. Bowerman came to the plate and slapped
a base-hit driving in another run. Chick Stahl contributed to the rally and
ripped a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning. Pittsburgh had 12
hits overall, while Chicago-NL had 7.

Sam Leever(11-6) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Clark
Griffith gained credit for his 8th save. Jack Chesbro(12-9) was the losing
pitcher.
