In a startling finish the Boston-NL Braves staged a comeback then held on to
win over the Chicago-NL Cubs by a score of 7 to 6 at West Side
Park.

Boston-NL scored the winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 3 base
hits.  Wilbur Good got things going when he slapped a base-hit.  Roy Thomas
stepped up next and he singled.  Otto Knabe then laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Harry Davis struck out, unable to help the rally.  Sam Crawford stepped into
the box and was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Sammy Strang did his
part to keep things going and delivered a single scoring two baserunners.
Boston-NL had 11 hits overall, while Chicago-NL had 8.  

The victory was credited to Al Orth(3-4) who went 2 innings, allowing 1 run.
Heinie Berger(4-5) was the losing pitcher in relief.  Boston-NL scored big
getting 3 runs off him in 2 innings.  

'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Orth said.  'It's great to be back on the
winning side of things.'
