Shortstop Alex McCarthy had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates
topped the Brooklyn Superbas by a score of 8 to 3 at Washington Park.

Jack Ferry(7-4) earned his pay with a solid performance for Pittsburgh.  He
went 8 and 1/3 innings and surrended up 9 hits and 1 walk reducing his ERA
from 4.41 to 4.16.  Pittsburgh rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.  

Sandy Burk(1-3) absorbed the loss.  He gave up 6 runs and 5 hits in 7 innings.
