Ossie Vitt had 3 base hits and Jean Dubuc completed the game without help from
the bullpen at League Park where the impressive Detroit Tigers beat the
Cleveland Indians in 11 innings by the score of 4 to 3.
Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. Detroit came out on top
in the 11th inning. Ty Cobb tripled. Sam Crawford followed and he hit a
sacrifice fly scoring the run. Detroit rapped out 13 hits for the afternoon.
The victory went to Dubuc(10-15) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Guy
Morton(7-12) suffered the loss in relief.
'He gutted it out' Hughie Jennings said of Dubuc. 'I was very impressed by
his tenacity.'
