Russ Meyer pitched 9 strong innings as the Cincinnati Reds topped the New
York-AL Yankees by a score of 3 to 0 at Yankee Stadium.

Cincinnati wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning plating an
isolated run using 2 hits.  That early run support was all that Meyer(4-7)
required.  New York-AL proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.

Max Surkont(12-8) took the loss.  He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.
