First baseman Bill Skowron launched 2 homeruns at Ebbets Field as the
Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Brooklyn Dodgers in 14 innings 3 to 2.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings.  Pittsburgh came out on top in
the 14th inning.  Skowron lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'.  The game was a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  

Jim Konstanty(5-1) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
