Jack Neagle went the distance and center fielder Ed Swartwood had 2 base hits
and 3 RBI at Exposition Park where the Pittsburgh Alleghenys beat the
Louisville Eclipse by the score of 12 to 11.

The game was decided in the 8th inning.  After an out was recorded, Jackie
Hayes stroked a base-hit.  George Creamer stepped up next and he laced a
single.  After another out, Denny Mack then ripped a base-knock scoring the
run.  Louisville went down quietly in the 9th.  

Neagle(3-10) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 11 runs. The losing
pitcher was Sam Weaver(17-18).  He gave up 12 runs in 8 innings of work.

'He gutted it out' Ormond Butler said of Neagle.  'I was very impressed by his
tenacity.'
