Sam Thompson launched 2 homeruns and had 8 RBI and Lady Baldwin was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Detroit
Wolverines ballclub embarrassed the Buffalo Bisons by the count of 18 to
1.

Thompson enjoyed a great day at the plate. He blasted a two-run home run in
the 5th inning, lined a single bringing in a run in the 6th inning and bombed
a two-run dinger in the 8th inning. Detroit provided plenty of action in the
7th inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 8th inning which saw them
score 5 runs on 4 hits. The Detroit offense smacked the Buffalo pitching
staff around, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

The winning pitcher was Baldwin(4-4) who allowed 1 run for the game. Pete
Conway(2-3) was tagged with the loss. He was touched for 16 hits and 2 walks
in 7 innings.

'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Thompson said
'next time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
