Ed Doheny delivered 9 solid innings as the very strong Pittsburgh Pirates
outscored the dreadful Philadelphia Phillies 8 to 2.

Philadelphia found themselves trailing quickly as the Pittsburgh bats came
through in the first inning when they tallied 3 runs on 3 hits.  That scoring
would be all that was needed.  Pittsburgh had 11 hits for the afternoon.

Doheny(10-8) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Doc White(9-16)
was the losing pitcher.  He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings.
