6,404 fans watched an exciting game at South Side Park. The Chicago White Sox
topped the New York Highlanders by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

New York was unable to climb back into it after Chicago went ahead for good in
the bottom of the 3rd inning plating one baserunner utilizing 2 base hits.
After an out was recorded, Fielder Jones delivered a base-hit. After another
out, George Davis came up and he singled scoring the run. New York had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Doc White(8-14) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Ed Walsh
got the save, his 4th. Al Orth(9-15) was the loser. 'Just one or two
mistakes were all it took to beat us today' New York's manager said. 'We
take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to take.'
