Christy Mathewson had an impressive outing as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the
New York-NL Giants by the score of 3 to 0 at Polo Grounds.

Mathewson(16-15) was virtually untouchable.  He allowed just 4 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings.  Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th inning with
no runs scored after that point.  

Vic Willis(12-12) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings giving up 10
hits and 3 walks.
