Fritz Maisel had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the St.
Louis-AL Browns by the score of 7 to 4 at Sportsman'S Park.

Cincinnati took the lead for good in the top of the 2nd inning scoring one
runner. St. Louis-AL threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

The win was credited to Reb Russell(16-3) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run.
Hooks Wiltse preserved the game for Russell, recording his his 8th save. The
losing pitcher was Rube Marquard(12-11). He got hammered, allowing 12 hits
and 5 walks in 8 innings.

Despite losing Tim Singer was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over this
one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one of a
dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
