Red Smith had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Ebbets Field as the Brooklyn Superbas
beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4 to 3.

The deciding run was scored by Brooklyn in the bottom of the 8th.  After an
out was recorded, Zack Wheat singled.  Jake Daubert was next and he ripped a
single.  Smith then slapped a one-base hit scoring the run.  St. Louis
threatened in the 9th but Brooklyn was able to put down the rally.  

The winning pitcher was Bull Wagner(5-4) who allowed 1 run in 3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Bill Doak(4-2).  He allowed 4 runs and 11 hits in 8
innings.  

Brooklyn continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 6
games and counting.
