Shortstop Al Dark had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates bested the
Cincinnati Reds 15 to 9 at Crosley Field.

Dark led the offense for Pittsburgh.  He ripped a base-hit in the 1st inning,
blasted a two-run home run in the 4th inning, banged out a single in the 6th
inning and laced a one-base hit bringing in a run in the 7th inning.
Pittsburgh provided plenty of action in the 6th inning which saw them plate 5
runs on 4 hits.  The Pittsburgh offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.  

The victory was credited to Early Wynn(11-7) who went 5 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 6 runs. Ken Raffensberger(9-11) was hit with the loss.  He was
knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 4 innings.
