The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Cleveland won it in the 10th inning. Cass Michaels drew a walk. Earl Torgeson stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. One out later, Jim Busby then laced a single giving Cleveland the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Cleveland had only 5 hits for the night. Gromek(7-12) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Johnny Podres(5-9) was the loser. He pitched 9 and 1/3 innings giving up only 4 hits and 3 walks. Wth the win Cleveland now has a record of 57-73. Washington can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9 record over the last couple weeks.
