Charlie Reilly had 2 base hits as the Philadelphia Phillies topped the
Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings by a score of 4 to 2 at League Park.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Philadelphia won
the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Ed Delahanty led off and he
lined a one-base hit. Frank Dwyer then pickDelahanty off first base. Roger
Connor then reached on an error. Dwyer then threw one that got by the
catcher for a passed ball. Lave Cross came up to bat and laced a single.
Bob Allen kept the rally going and stroked a base-hit plating a run. Gus
Weyhing next to the plate and he would ground out scoring the final run of
the inning. Philadelphia had a total of 14 hits for the game.

Kid Carsey(20-5) got the win allowing 2 runs in 9 innings. Phil Knell earned
the save, his 1st. Dwyer(18-9) was charged with the loss in relief. It was
a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of
work.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Carsey said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put
the ball where I wanted it.'
