Frank Dwyer then pickDelahanty off first base. Roger Connor then reached on an error. Dwyer then threw one that got by the catcher for a passed ball. Lave Cross came up to bat and laced a single. Bob Allen kept the rally going and stroked a base-hit plating a run. Gus Weyhing next to the plate and he would ground out scoring the final run of the inning. Philadelphia had a total of 14 hits for the game. Kid Carsey(20-5) got the win allowing 2 runs in 9 innings. Phil Knell earned the save, his 1st. Dwyer(18-9) was charged with the loss in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of work. 'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.' Carsey said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
