Dick Padden had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Jim Hughey went the distance at Eastern
Park as the Pittsburg Pirates embarrassed the Brooklyn Bridegrooms by the
lopsided score of 19 to 3.

The Brooklyn fans didn't appreciate the big day Padden had. He lined a single
plating a run in the 4th inning, smacked a one-base hit which brought home a
run in the 6th inning, tripled in the 7th inning and laced a base-knock
bringing home two baserunners in the 9th inning. Pittsburg kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 6th inning with 5 runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning
with 7 runs on 4 hits. Pittsburg kept the pressure on throughout the contest
as they scored in 6 different innings.

The win went to Hughey(7-6) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Bert Abbey(4-10)
absorbed the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 17 hits
and 5 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
