Lefty Leifield pitched a complete game at Washington Park as the impressive
Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Brooklyn Superbas 4 to 1.

Pittsburgh promptly took the lead in their half of the first as they scored 2
runs on 1 base hits.  That was all Leifield(19-9) needed.  Brooklyn had 11
hits in the game while Pittsburgh had 6, but Pittsburgh had the more timely
hits.  

Nap Rucker(7-15) was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 6 hits and 5 walks in 9
innings.
