Right fielder Sam Crawford had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Detroit Tigers
defeated the Boston Red Sox 11 to 8 at Fenway Park.
Detroit took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning plating an isolated run
utilizing 3 base hits. After two outs Eddie Onslow laced a base-knock.
Charlie Deal came next and he banged out a single. Oscar Stanage then
slapped a one-base hit scoring the run. Detroit dominated offensively as
they scored in 6 different innings.
The win was credited to Ed Willett(12-13) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing
8 runs. Hugh Bedient(11-7) took the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 11
hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
