Chief Johnson was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Cincinnati Reds beat the floundering Boston Braves by a
score of 2 to 1.

Cincinnati tallied 2 runs in the 3rd inning when they came up with 4 base
hits.  That early scoring was all that Johnson(14-8) needed.  After the 3rd
inning, neither team was able to score.  

Dick Rudolph(9-7) absorbed the loss.  He pitched 9 innings allowing 8 hits and
3 walks.
